Cambodia is cool!!

First off, thanks for all the comments!! Wow I was expecting zero as not had much of a chance to read everyone elses blogs...bought a smile to my dial.

Cambodia has been fantastic, Im going to say the best country so far (and thats a big call) but I guess I was a little apprehensive so its such a nice suprise when everything is peachy.

We took a bus to Siem Riep from BKK which took 10hrs, and the last 4hrs we only went 115km as the roads arent really roads just pot holes and dirt. We were presold to a guesthouse, but we didnt mind as who can be bothered trying to find a place at 11pm after mammoth trip and it was only $6 a night. The ppl are so sweet all want to talk to you to practice their english, and try and get you to ride on their motobike or tuktuk. We made some great friends that Jase stayed up till all hours chatting too. Hired bikes and went exploring one day to a landmine museum. Got up at 5.30am to see sunrise over Angkor Wat temples which was AMAZING, just cant get my head around how they were constructed back in the 12th Century. Intriguing ancient kingdom...

We are in Phnom Penh at the moment, visited the S21 prison and killing fields today which were too sad for words. Pol Pots regime destroyed anyone with "western talents" eg teachers, lawyers, doctors, artists, etc plus women and children all tortured and killed in massive graves. I have learnt a lot of history while Im here, reading books too.

Sadly lots of beggars and amputees, we didnt know what to do, cant give to everyone, so we buy a bunch of bananas to carry round each day and give out to ppl.
Rather serious post I know but dont get me wrong this is one cool country.
Love to all around the world!

Dam you are brown! I mean, you were always brown - but whoa, what a tan. I don't think I will be getting anything close to tan for a long time now. It was so cold last night down here in dunners that I actually took a hottie to bed with me!

Whats with the funny mask thingys? Bird flu protectors?

Hey Olivia, the touristy photos are cute and great memories for when your old and looking back. And as EVERYONE has said, I'm sooo jealous of your tan!! Anyway looks like Mike, Caitlin and I will be in Toronto end of June til the end July-ish (still sorting exact flights/dates etc) so I will make a point or two of getting the grandparents to babysit so we can all take on T.O and have a Canadian rampage. Will get your email of Shav closer to the time. Take care xx

I can't believe that temple castle thing actually exists, it looks amazing. I would love to go to cambodia, I've heard its just incredible! This random japanese girl showed me and Christey all her holiday pics of it, there was this crazy old temple where trees were growing up amongst all the ruins. What a trip eh!
Also, have to go with the heard on the tan, am soooo jealous as being in two winters has made my skin almost transulent.
